TAKE ACTION
As of tonight, Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) is threatening to block all Republican-supported immigration measures if his amnesty bill (DREAM) does not receive the votes of at least 60 Senators this week.
Durbin is claiming DREAM now has the support of "at least eight" Republican Senators.
Perhaps these eight Senators are unaware the DREAM Act is really an immigration nightmare for at least three reasons:
(1) Unlimited numbers.
Section 3(d) of S.2205 flatly states: "Nothing in this section may be construed to apply a numerical limitation on the number of
aliens who may be eligible for cancellation of removal or adjustment of status under this section."
(2) Any age. DREAM: pretends to set an age limit of 30, but that limit may be waived under Section 3(a)(2)for "humanitarian purposes or family unity or when it is otherwise in the publicinterest."
(3) English fluency optional.
Section 3(a)(1)(D) makes no mention of English fluency for either the student or his teachers, nor does it require that a qualifying education program must be both conducted and taken in English:
"[T]he alien, at the time of application, has been admitted to an institution of higher education in the United States, or has earned a high school diploma or obtained a general education development certificate in the United States;"
Please call your two Senators tomorrow (Wednesday) and ask them to vote "NO on cloture on the DREAM Act."
