These lawsuits must end

Dear Members

One ***article immediately following this commentary.

These frivolous lawsuits - that go directly against the American Dream - our culture, and customs must stop.

Our language - English - is one of the fabrics that make the US of A what it is.

Devvy Kidd put it very well...........

"Citizenship is a five year process. If you can't speak English by then, how committed are you to your new country and how our government operates?"

Is it too much to ask of those coming legally (which many do) - NOT ILLEGALLY - to participate in that "Dream" by supporting our customs and culture, speaking our language, abiding by our laws and waving one flag - the flag of the United States of America above all others?

Last time I checked there were approximately 3,124,000 individuals legally trying to obtain their part of the American Dream. - and, I would bet they would fully and gladly accept conditions such as learning the language of the land - ENGLISH, obeying the law, waving the flag of the United States of America and living within many of our cultures experiences and traditions to make their reality come true.

Why is it that so many say they want to be part of this dream - but do so very little to assimilate, instead, they make demands that chip away at the very Dream they hope to achieve - especially in the case of illegal aliens - who by entering the Country illegally ignore our laws and then refuse to learn English. - We see this in our work places, our hospitals, our schools - many times hampering the educational pace of English speaking students - and it must stop.

Another thought - with the economics times we face - why is it that a person who enters the US illegally, or legally for that matter - believes that they can add to the taxpayer burdens by demanding bilingual privledges. The fiscal savings that could be obtained to the taxpayers - not to mention the preservation of one of America's fabrics' - our language - only exhibits the common sense that it would be well worth legislation and the fight to ensure our language - English - it the official language of the land.

Maybe the time has come to stop asking our legislators, leaders and politicians to perserve our language and start demanding them to, as we see in the article below. If an individual coming here legally wishing to obtain the American dream - then accept our language, for those entering illegally - they have no right to make demands in the first place.

Consider contacting our official of choice and asking or demanding they promote this legislation.

Ruthie
